Red face Pipes, cigars, relaxing smoke

    Hello all,

I see less activity in this corner and would like to liven it up a bit.

If you are smoking a pipe or cigars, what are your current faves? I'm into English blends for the pipe and Arturo Fuente with cigars. I can't smoke too often, (and my physician knows), but I'm always interested to see what tastes people have, and how they change over time.

I'm a very VERY occasional pipe smoker, and cigars... once in a blue moon. I don't smoke the pipe indoors, so I'm limited to better weather and seasons, and even then perhaps three or four times a week.

What I can get here that I like fairly well is Amphora Supreme, and David's Royal Viking. I sometimes buy one of each in the spring and mix together. Springtime, so I can use it up before the season ends and it goes stale. I do have a half-size humidor that I use for that, and in a ziplock bag, I do not badly on keeping it over time.

Cigars? Archetype Strange Passage are nice.

I'll be following this thread. I enjoy a cigar every couple of months but with small kids (and similar outdoor constraints to Father Bill) I rarely find the opportunity to enjoy a full session. Generally I just stick to R&J 1875s. I'm planning on getting a pipe in the next few months and while ive done some research, I'd be very interested in opinions on tobacco selection. Cheers.

For pipes, consider a Peterson lip (check on Amazon). They have the hole on the top of the mouthpiece so you don't burn your tongue so much. Also look hard at a meerschaum. Royal Meerschaum https://www.royalmeerschaumpipes.com/ has some really nice ones at reasonable prices, and while they require a gentler standard of care, they smoke very smoothly and pleasurably. You could get one of each and rotate for a really great and gentle experience.

When I have the time, I currently smoke Olive Serie V Melanio in the petite corona size. A very good Nicaraguan cigar.

Sorry to say, no smoking here anymore. This due to astma.
But i loved McConnell Scottish Blend, and a good Havanna cigar like a Cohiba, once or twice a Year.

Now, all my 24 pipes, are in their boxes. Stanwell, Orlik, BBB, Savinelli, Dunhill, and a couple of hand made ones.
Oh and of course a Calabash...

You surely make me miss them quiet hours! - Do one for me, wont you?
