    Been a while

Hi y'all! I haven't posted much in the last few years. I'm finally trimming down my pandemic weight and fitting into my kilts again, so here are some long overdue photos of my custom-weave Colquhoun (large sett, Wilson's colours) kilt, in a military box pleat, by Paul Henry. Plus a new-to-me vintage tweed jacket/waistcoat, Victorian horse hair sporran with goat hair tassels, and some new claret hose. Yes, I finally came around to the loveliness of claret hose!

Oh, and I grew my hair out, LOL.

Good to see you back here. I too have lost my covid weight gain and also can wear clothing I haven’t worn in years. I grow my beard out at this time of year as I do Santa. No hair to grow out how ever.

Glad to see you posting again, everything from the kilt by Paul Henry to the vintage jacket and the choice of Claret hose is wonderful. That really is a nice jacket and waistcoat.

Thanks! It's funny, I almost passed on buying it because I already had a very nice vintage green tweed jacket/waistcoat (the one in my avatar photo). But I'm an incurable vintage tweed jacket tart, so when one comes up in my size with a matching waistcoat, it's hard for me to look away. I actually purchased this almost 2 years ago but hadn't worn it until now.

As tweed aficionados know, their colour can be deceiving in photos. The listing made it look very dark, like a bottle green. Happily, it turned out to be a more earthy colour in person. It checks all the right boxes for me: gauntlet cuffs, horn buttons (26 in total), scalloped pockets, epaulets, and high-gorge 6-button waistcoat.
