Bear, I thought this already was a true kilt forum, well it is for me anyway.

Bravehearts is great - when it's working.
Toms site has been ruined by skirt wearers, crossdressers and other weirdos' (no disrespect to Tom, he's a fine person).

So this is very much my "kilt home", I trust and pray it won't go the way of Tom's site.

    Oh Blimey!

Clear the halls, lock up your daughters (!), increase the memory of this site by 20,000 megabites. Hamish is here, the insomniacs dream!

Seriously for a moment; Welcome oh great Ham. I am honoured to have touched the sacred leather kilt and will be eternally blessed.

Why has it taken you so LONG to get here?

    The other Guinness.......

Well Hamish, That is an impressive wardrobe of kilts you have collected. I was just pondering... have you been listed in the Guinness Book of Records as of yet? As the worlds most kilted man, perhaps. Has anyone ever checked??

    Hello Hamish!

    Hey there
I just joined the list too. I have seen you on other forums, but never got around to introducing myself.
My name is Iain, but on here I'm Brasilikilt.

I'm glad to see that an older, respectable looking guy such as yourself has taken such a leap as to boycott pants, giving more credibility to the whole kilt-wearing "thing" for us younger (perhaps less respectable looking) guys. :-)

Take care, and hope to chat again very soon

    Welcome from another new member!
I noticed that you have a few kilts that have pleats in the front. What's the story with those?

    Hi Ham,
We've talked a couple times on other sites. I'm glad you found your way over to this one. It's always good to see such a role model as yourself finding time to share insights with "newbies" like myself.

    Hi Everyone!

Thank you all SO much for your warm and sincere welcome to the "X Marks the Scot" forum. I must say, it's good to be here. Old friends and new friends coming together - this is going to be a wonderful place. However, let us not forget the other splendid meeting places that have served us so well over, in some cases, many years. We should still keep in touch with them and visit regularly.

A quick response to Rick: the kilts with pleats also at the front will be one of the earliest Utilikilts' styles - the Standard model. Rather than a wrap around garment, like the traditional kilt and their current Neo-Trad model, it was a step-in-and-zip-up design. The zip at the front being akin to the fly opening on a pair of trousers. Because there were no overlapping aprons, the symetrical pleating came all around to the front centre line. I liked that style as much as the Neo-Trad but, unfortunately I was in the minority and it was discontinued last year!
