You know what really completes this outfit in my (biased) eye? The spats
The photos washed it out, but that's a tattersal shirt too. I was thinking it might be too much pattern, considering the pattern of the tweed when seen close-up. But I actually think they compliment each other. And from a distance, the patterns disappear.
And of course I'm using a full Windsor knot on my tie. Minor detail to some, but I really think this thin silk tie needed it, lest the knot be too small and out of proportion.
On the spat issue, I've decided that I like them so much, I'm going to experiment some more with various colours and styles. I bought a vintage (1950s) pattern for spats, and will be trying out some different types. It'll be a winter project, along with some other bright ideas I'm having these days.

That's the amazing thing about mixing tweeds, tattersal, and tartan: it works so well because at a distance the smaller patterns disappear but up close, they add interest. And I'm also a fan of the full Windsor knot
I look forward to your spat experiments!

I think your spot on with the tattersall shirt Tobus. I have a poacher tweed argyll and waistcoat and go with the tattersall all the time. Keep it up

Nooooo!!!!!!!!
I have a strict rule against smiling in photos. If you look at portraits and photos from the old days, no one smiled. Their look was either stern or neutral. Smiling for a photo is something that you really only see in photos from the last couple of decades, and it really annoys me. Nothing looks worse than a fake "cheese" smile. I don't mind smiling in a photo if it's a candid shot where I was smiling already, but I absolutely refuse to put on a fake smile for photos. It's just not my style. But just because I seem to be scowling in pretty much every picture I've ever taken, don't confuse that for a dour demeanour! I like to let the emoticons do my smiling for me.

I agree, and it's been a bit of a "Eureka!" thing for me. I was raised NEVER to mix different patterns. I don't know why Americans seem to be so dead-set against it, but it really opens up a lot of depth and complexity to one's outfit. This particular tattersal shirt works well because it's virtually the same size grid pattern as the tweed, which makes for an interesting effect up-close.

And before joining this board, I never would have put a maroon tie together with browns and greens. But in the interest of not being "matchy-matchy", I tried it, and I think it works well.
It's amazing how trying something new can drastically re-shape how one thinks.

LOL... I get this complaint a lot on facebook.. that I never smile, and much for the same reasons as you, but I have always wanted to ask you why you look perpetually pi$$ed off. Neutral is fine, but damn man.... You look like a very angry SOB that I would NOT want to approach... LOL
