			Greetings and Salutations

Greetings to yee..I'm new here and would just like to introduce myself. I'm Ded N. Buried (aka Steven C. Edwards). I presently do not own a kilt, but Utlikilt assures me it will arrive at my door step any day now.
I have no Scottish or Irish roots, I have no disire to revolutionize the male fashion world, I just think kilts look cool. And one of my goals in life is to look as cool as possible as often as possible. Not a big tartan fan, kinda dig the more modern styles myself.
Anyway just wanted to send out a warm salutations.

 thanx...Ded N. Buried

Hello Steve and welcome to xmarks. Don't worry that you prefer the modern style of kilt - we all have our preferences of style and frequency of use! That's what makes life interesting.

Hope you'll visit and post regularly

We have a good array of folk here from the tartan loving Scots to the solid loving non-Scots and everything in between.
I myself have Scottish and Irish heritage and love my traditional tartan kilt. BUt I also love my carhart brown victory kilt from USA Kilts. I just got it last week and have been talking about it almost non stop since!

Welcome to the board Steven, glad to have you with us. The contemporary kilts definately have a place. I have 3 tartan and 2 denim kilts so far. The plain kilts are great for everyday wear when there's a chance of getting messy since they wash up and dry easily, no need for the dry cleaner

Thanx for the warm welcome and don't think I have anything against the traditional kilts, it just seems to me to be more of a heritage type thing. If I had a family/clan tartan, I'm sure I would proudly sport it, but sadly enough I do not. I just like the MUGs thing in general. When I was doin the whole goth thing a few years back I was known to wear a long black pleather, dare I say it, male skirt from time to time. Yet at this point in my life's journey I feel a black Utilikilt more apropriatly fits my image.

thanx again for the welcome...Ded N. Buried

Hi Steve welcome to the board, I prefer the plainer kilts too, but I'm starting to be swayed by the posts on tartans into thinking about one for myself.Cheers Rhino.

Thanx for the Carolina tartan info, I did not realize. And it ain't too bad niether. Like I say I still awaiting my first kilt, perhaps the Carolina tartan wil be my... lets say third one.
thanx for the welcome, Rhino and perhaps in time I too will be swayed to the plaid side. Until then everything is better when black.

 thanx...Ded N. Buried

					Welcome Steven,
It's also good to have another fellow North Carolinian on the board. I just live about an hour or so up the road in Rutherfordton.

I like most kilts but only own a traditional Wallace Tartan kilt at present. I know you aren't into
Scottish heritage but the Loch Norman Highland
games are a lot of fun even if you’re not Scottish.
Plus you'll be right at home wearing your kilt.
They take place on 4-16 thru 18th.

 Just a thought.
