Ha, I'm with you on that one. I'm glad to see Harris Tweed getting some exposure in different markets, but I think I'll pass on the shoes. Footwear seems like an odd place to use tweed.

I dig those ones that Cowher got but dislike the ones that RAF posted.

Me too. I'll keep the tweed on my back and the leather for my brogues!

Tis a true story, I was told it from as reliable source, unfortunately he is no longer with us to back up the facts, make of it what you will.

    Chris.
I would find out if those are actually knit from the Harris tweed yarn first before I bought.

I have bought my wife several pounds of harris tweed yarn over the years for knitting projects -- she has made herself a very lovely sweater from a run of brown yarn, and recently knit herself a new Christmas stocking from some blue harris tweed yarn.

But I wouldn't want socks knit from this yarn anywhere near my feet! It's so rough and coarse -- makes for a perfect hard wearing jacket, but not socks, I'm afraid!

Yep, ya could be right about that. It does say on their site..
Our socks are made from wool spun and dyed in the Western Isles.
So if it is rough then I would not want a pair of training shoes made from it!
But then again, in Scotland, between the midges, ticks and fleas and other ichy pests, a bit of itchy wool probably would'nt be noticed!

I didn't want to be the first to say this but now that it's been said...
