Out of the frying pan and into the fire?

Wearing a kilt that was made for someone else is bound to require a bit of adjustment. Right now, MrShoe is wearing it very high and having the selvedge only barely up to mid-knee. It would be easy enough to check how the taper and fell would go if he wore it at his natural waist; if it is still OK, then he might wish to look into hemming.

Personally, I would prioritize showing off my not-so-bonnie knees before worrying about the fell in the back...

Looks good, but do not be afraid to hem it if you like and if it fits you well while lowering it on your waist.

I got one of those too-good-to-pass-up opportunities on a heavy Higgins kilt which was just 2 inches too long. Higgins hemmed it for me and it looks great.

That appears to me to be a fine look on you my friend! Excellent find!

The length looks OK to me, even though I'm a newbie to the Kilt world.

It is a perfect fit from what I see.
