Great look and really sharp looking kilt. Coincidently, wearing one of John's kilts today (kilted Friday) - he does make a great garment!

Yes, but you would have to approach D.C. Dalgliesh and get a custom weave. Lochcarron offers the Chattan tartan (Strome) in the 'ancient' colours only. However, the Chattan tartan is commerically available in both the 'modern' and 'ancient' colours. I was thinking of having a custom run done of the Chattan tartan in the reproduction (weathered) colours at some point, but not any time soon. My focus now is entirely on Macpherson tartans in reproduction and Wilson's of Bannockburn colours.

My good mate and fellow Macpherson cousin, Bruce Macpherson of London, wearing the Chattan tartan in the 'modern' colours.

    Cheers,

Thanks for the review, mate! The accessories look great with the tartan!

I should also point out that Clan Chattan (A) as woven by the House of Edgar is not the same as Lochcarron's. There is a white stripe within the orange. See below:

The one without the white stripe was recognised by Sir Aneas Mackintosh of Mackintosh in 1816 as that of his family. A similar one, formerly known as Finzean's Fancy, became the personal tartan of Mackintosh of Mackintosh-Torcastle, the Clan Chattan captain. As a comparison, the one following was woven by James Scarlett, 'the old man of tartan', over thirty years ago.

What an awesome tartan and kilt... I had looked at this tartan before

I'm sure anyone seeing this would be doing a lot of chattin' about it (sorry for the pun)

Actually that's pronounced "hatton" despite the "c".
