Moncler Gamme Bleu A/W 2013 (Milan fashion show featuring 'haute couture' kilts)

Just got a peek at the Moncler Gamme Bleu Autumn Winter 2013 collection from Milan, and I must say -- it is WILD! Here is probably one of the tamest styles from the collection -- the rest are really WAY out in left field. Personally, I think it's great! I'd wear these... But in order to prevent some of our rabble from having a coronary, I'll only re-post two of the "mild" images. For those with a stronger disposition, and an open mind to somewhat "haute" couture, you can see more exemplars over at GQ UK: http://www.gq-magazine.co.uk/style/a...enswear-photos

Ugh.. Sorry, guys. Looks like GQ UK is mis-linking this to another show. The rest of the collection is up on various fashion Blogs though. Here is one (that also shows previous years' Monler Gamme Bleu winter collections). http://www.style.com/fashionshows/re...2013MEN-MGBLEU

    Egads! My eyes, my eyes!

Lets hope the looks in this line never catch on... (something tells me we're safe on that score).

CDNSushi, thanks for posting the link. My friends and I enjoyed the "show". It certainly is an avant-garde view of men's modern fashion. While I'll never wear anything like it (nor will I wear my sporran chain outside my jacket) we can see club-goers and some others adopting those looks.

Most of what I saw made me want to gag. Honestly, if this ever went mainstream in men's fashion, it might make me want to stop wearing the kilt altogether, just to avoid anyone thinking that I'm somehow associated with ...that.

But - as is usual in these fashion shows, there were a couple of really cool things that might catch on. Or at least that I hope we might see. For instance, I really dig this jacket. It looks like a knit jacket with 'cable knitting' or other patterns in it whose names I don't know. I would not be interested in wearing the matching trousers (or the ninja/ski mask for that matter), but just the jacket by itself would be pretty unique. The length and cut looks like it would work very well with a traditional kilt. There was a white one and a charcoal one that I saw:

As Tobus said there are a few things a person might glean from this showing and fit to their own style. All a bit over the top for me but I prefer more casual and traditional styles. Living in an area where putting on clean jeans or mossy oak is dressing up I tend to already stick out as their, not my, unusual. I also like the charcoal cableknit jacket and might even find plenty of times to wear it. Perhaps a brown tweed in the same jacket would be my choice. Thanks for sharing, it is always interesting to see what is being done with clothing and what people do and dont consider style.

Everything he's wearing looks like it's supposed to be riding gear (and indeed I see out-of-focus horses in the background), so those are just the patterned tops of his riding boots.
