Pay Pal guarantees customer satisfaction even if they have to be the source of the refund (as others have already noted). You are always "in the right" with eBay if the seller has misrepresented the item -- as has pretty obviously been the case. Please do follow up because "bad sellers" (those who misrepresent items) need to be corrected or weeded out.

Thank you all for your input on this Ebay matter.

The case has been resolved by Ebay. This afternoon I escalated the case to them since I had not heard back from the seller about the fairness of expecting me to pay for return shipping on a dishonestly listed item. The form said they would respond within 48 hours. In 3 hours I got notification that they were giving me a "courtesy refund" and closing the case. Now I have to decide if I want to give negative feedback on the seller or just let it rest.

On a brighter note, today I received the other kilt I purchased. It turned out to be a low yardage tourist quality one but is excellent condition and my husband really likes the more muted colors on whatever MacDonald dress tartan it is better that the thrift store dress modern. Hopefully since he likes it better there is a chance I can actually get him to wear it!
