East Tennessee Celtic Festival 2014 • September 5, 6, & 7
Join the Upper East Tennessee Celtic Society at Sycamore Shoals State Historic Site in Elizabethton, TN for the East Tennessee Celtic Festival! This year's theme is "Free Scotland" - we will be giving special consideration to Scottish history & heritage, in addition to our usual coverage of all things Celtic. Live music, dancing, athletics, clan associations, vendors, and more!
On Friday, September 5, festivities kickoff at 7:00PM with our Torchlight Ceremony & Calling of the Clans. Join us this year as we pay special tribute to our former president, Lucretia "Lu" Gordon, which passed away last November. Lu was not only our Society president, and a great friend to all who knew her, but was also a board member and the national conveener for House of Gordon USA (which was started by her late father, Charles O. Gordon, Sr.). If you attended the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games in the past, there's a good chance you met Lu!
On Saturday, September 6, at 10:00AM the Festival proper kicks off with our Opening Ceremonies. Join us throughout the day as we celebrate our shared Celtic heritage through music, athletics, historical demonstrations, and more! The festival grounds close at 5:00PM on Saturday in order to prepare for our Ceilidh, which begins at 6:00PM. Musical entertainment for this year includes Maidens IV, Sigean, Night Crossing, and Kryss Dula & Friends.
On Sunday, September 7, the festival grounds will once again be open from 10:00AM until 5:00PM. As with Saturday, live music and other activities will take place all day long.

Added a link to a higher resolution version of the poster; didn't realize how much Xmarks had compressed it!
@rebelrouser Are you coming with on of the Clans, or as an attendee? Just curious!
@ASinclair & @carolinanan117 You two will be sorely missed!

My family lived in kentucky from around late 1700's to ww2. Ancestors were in the 2nd ky mounted rifles and 5th ky inf. Kentucky's biggest export has always been people. Dad came to Ohio in 44 after he got out of the army. He wanted to learn a trade (he became a bricklayer) instead of staying home and chopping tobacco.

Awesome; looking forward to having you! Maybe we'll need to have an Xmarks Gathering of Two.
