Another Friday. They seem to show up so quickly.
Its Thanksgiving weekend in Canada, so I'm thankful, among many things, that we have the right to choose what to wear (within reason of propriety and safety), with the kilt giving a nod to those long-passed relations who came to cultivate and harvest the land and sea.
Keeping it business casual with a pullover and open-collared shirt. Looked good with a tie, but hey, its Friday.

Road trip today for tomorrow's Highland Festival in Radford, VA. Wore my 5.11 Tactical in Multicam. It was a big hit with those who I encountered. One Army couple wanted my photo and were over moon to see a kilt in their normal attire pattern. Pic is at the Peak of Otters Lodge on the Blue Ridge Parkway which I included in my trip. A good day!

Not today because of meetings, but had the great fortune of two Honours events on Monday and Thursday. Business kilted to the Mon and Sherriffmuir to Thu, where one other well turned out kilted gent also attended.
    Happy Friday and weekend, all

Nice frosty and sunny morning this week and threw on a thin jumper that should have gone well with Cullins of Skye tartan. Lesson to all, check before leaving the house otherwise you could up looking like Captain Brown below. Did get a couple of pictures that show off the tartan, so not all lost hehe.

I dunno - looks good to me.
At a time like this one must ask themselves, 'WWJDD"

My wife and I went to a botanical garden for a walk Sunday morning after breakfast. It was in the mid-40ºF, and with the hose and wool sweater, I was quite comfortable. Although, frequent trips out of the shade and into the sunshine were needed.

Attended an annual food function with our quasi-geriatric (i.e. some old, some just a bit broken) motorcycle buddies. Wore my traditional (and only) kilt in U.S. Army tartan along with ancient blue hose (over electric blue Argyle compression socks, but that's neither here nor there) with scarlet flashes, casual brown cowhide sporran, a wide brown leather tool belt (sans pouches), and a white cotton shirt. Weather in the 40s wasn't a bother at all; I discarded my vest.

Sorry, no pictures -- we had our hands full with a new puppy. I do need to find me some brown brogues, as penny loafers don't quite seem the business. Still employing my leather-sheathed Frost picnic knife for a sgian dubh; it's a comfortable enough ride-along and it's always staged in the car.

Pretty Wife and I argued genially over whether I was "formally dressed." What can I say? It's the west coast.

    Cheers,

    Jack

First made to measure kilt for me. Isle of Skye 8 yard Jura from Slanj in Edinburgh (Woven by Marton Mills). House of Edgar moss green Crail jacket and waistcoat. Lochcarron ancient green hose. House of Edgar Flashes and tie both in Twilight (matches the purple in the kilt nicely). Loake 202's brown brogues. Brown leather day Sporran from WM Scott of Edinburgh.

It has been some time since I've posted in this thread, so I thought I would. No adventures to speak of today, rather uneventful (not complaining either). Wore the 16oz, 6 yd, Ross Red Weathered. One of my favorites.
