The following post on Pinterest has some nice pictures of a frame loom on which someone has woven a piece of "plaid" fabric in twill weave:

The critical thing that you'll see in these pictures is that the same stripes of color appear in the same order and widths in both the warp (the threads that you wind onto the loom) and in the weft (the thread that you weave with from side to side).

There are lots of YouTube videos on warping a frame loom and weaving plain weave. If you want to try a twill, this is a great, illustrated post that shows how to do something other than plain weave.

    https://www.kaliko.co/blog/weaving-s...-loom-tutorial

For a straight twill, you would weave it this way:

Weft thread 1 (first thread at bottom of pic below, from left to right): . OVER 2, UNDER 2, OVER 2, UNDER 2…, etc.
Weft thread 2 (second thread from bottom of pic below, from left to right): UNDER 1, OVER 2, UNDER 2, OVER 2…, etc.
Weft thread 3 (third thread from bottom of pic below, from left to right): UNDER 2, OVER 2, UNDER 2, OVER 2…, etc.
Weft thread 4 (fourth thread from bottom of pic below, from left to right): OVER 1, UNDER 2, OVER 2, UNDER 2…, etc.
    And repeat

I still don't know if I'm answering the question you want or whether you already know all this.
