keep me from destroying these snots!
i have been wearing my SWK on a fairly regular basis since i got it, about a month now. mostly the response i get is along the lines of " whats the special occasion?" or "do you play the pipes too?" there are however a couple of young ,male twits present when i pick up my kids from the after school program who have no concept of letting rude remarks stop after the fourtieth repition. i have answered questions and comments WAY too many times with all the humour and class i can drag up. at this time i am starting to look longingly at the mace link kilt wilter posted a while back.
i know that if these kids are allowed to live long enough, they either will grow up to be at least semi-civilised or they will be in prison with the rest of their relatives. either way it is no problem for me.
not really looking for a solution. mostly ranting a bit and hoping for some experiences others have had.
thanks for letting me get a little poison out without having to dig ANOTHER hole!

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to hide the bodies of those I was forced to kill
because they mightily pissed me off

When the time comes for them to make a difficult choice in life, they will remember you.

Rant away my friend! Talk to us that is why we are here. Just remember we are kilted gentlemen. We are above those people who just do not get it and think that they are better than you because they conform and we are happily kilted.

Just take comfort in the fact that while they may not get it and make rude comments, the girls THEY are interested in are checking YOU out.

I got 88 acres, mostly in timber. I could volunteer a amall "plot" or two'.

I can only imagine that these young "critics" were likely dressed the same way most teen-aged lads are dressed. Which makes one wonder why they would have ANYTHING to say about how another person would be dressed. ![Rolling Eyes](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif)
Being one who is also close to 50 (just because I am on the other side shouldn't matter, eh? ), I can tell you that you are going to realize more and more, with each passing day, that what others think of you is not nearly as important as what you think of yourself. You know that good feeling you get when that kilt is hanging "just right"? Nobody can really take that away from you with words, so let 'em talk all they want.
Remembering, of course, that JerMc offered... ;)

It's the ignorant kids who have the problem, so the trick is to not let it become your problem.
Shrug them off and get on with enjoying being kilted.
They are the losers, you can only gain.
