Hey Dr. Douglas!
How's Old Arthur treating you today? He sure is rotten company!
Sorry you had such a bad night.
My wife has RA and goes through nights like that at times. She gave up her prescription pain meds some months ago as well. Now she just takes Aleve, or the generic Naproxen Sodium, twice a day and gets by just as well with fewer side effects.
I hope you can get some rest tonight. God Bless.

It's raining. Need I say more? It's the God forsaken rainy season, where it rains just about every bloody afternoon.
There is a dirty, nasty, awful secret about most rx medications for RA. They only work for but a short while, until your tolerance is up so high that you are very nearly taking an overdose level. So the doctor moves you to a new rx. And then later, another new one. And so on and so on. And when there are no new ones... You are, well, you are bent over and screwed. You actually hurt worse than you ever did because you are not aclimatised to the pain. So then they move people to things like oxy-whatevers and tylox. Which is a wonderful bag of tricks. Chemical dependancy is a great deal of fun you know.
It's better for your wife to simply do with out. Most of these drugs shorten your life considerably, cause heart trouble, and damage your kidneys, liver, your whole renal system something awful. I have found that good company, like those of some humans, all dogs, and some cats is far better than some pill.
I do appreciate your thoughts.
