New Argyll jacket, round II
I took some of your suggestions to heart and snapped a couple more pics. Jacket is un-buttoned and I changed to cream hose. I still need a decent tie, though. I never usually wear one so I have a very limited selection. Hopefully Karen gets me a couple of nice ones for Christmas.

Looks good Al. You're right though, gotta do something about that tie.

Yeah, yeah, I know.
I own a total of three ties (not counting the two retro 80's leather ties)...this one, a striped one from my Calgary Transit uniform, and a bright green one. I have no idea where I got the green one from, but it's too bright for this outfit. It's considerably brighter than the flashes. I tried it on and almost threw up when I checked in the mirror.

It's not a uniform... have you considered going without?
I don't wear ties either; when I got married, I chose some sort of button cover for the top button rather than wear a noose.

I'll say it again - the jacket looks great. The off-white hose are a HUGE improvement. You're stylin' for sure, now!

Just hit your local low price clothing store. Here it would be a Zellers or Sears ( I don't know about out west) and buy a plain black tie(matte or silk like finish and not the old skinny one). You should be able to get one for $8- $15 or more if you want silk. Goes with any kilt and jacket and is the easyest way to dress up that argyle.

Al...
As the Irish would say, Al, "Grand...just grand!" Good on ya!
The Argyll jacket and shirt would not look right to me without a tie; What sort of emblem is on your tie? I can't tell from the pictures. You might see what type of ties Matt can get you through the Museum to match flashes. A nice hunter or dark green would look nice, INMHO. Personally, I like ties. It's just a matter of finding the right one.
I really like your variant of the Irish National, btw.

ps: like your Four Provinces flag sticker on the filing cabinet as well!

Al,
The outfit looks great, my compliments, you might try a bottle green wool tie to match your flashes. The are readily available from any of the Scottish merchandise retailers who stock Lochcarron merchandise.

Thanks guys! I'll check out Matt's selection of ties, as well as the local Scottish shops selections. I might send my wife out with the flashes so she can get a decent match. LOL
Iolus...I don't like ties at all, but I don't think the outfit would look right without one. Damned if I do, damned if I don't.
Cajun...this kilt is the one that Chris, from Southern Celts, made. He had it listed for sale on the forum awhile back, I managed to be lucky enough to get it.
The two stickers came from a shop at the Highland Games back in September. One is the Irish crest, the other is for Co. Antrim, where my grandfather came from.
