    E-Books

Some time ago I came across this site: Project Gutenberg. It has 18,000 books that can be downloaded for free. If you like to read, check it out. There's a huge number of the classics there, among others.

The Notebooks of Leonardo Da Vinci and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn are just two of the top ten. Very impressive. Ah! I just saw The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. Just make sure you take out your contacts and slip on the specs if reading all of that on the monitor.

No discussion of E-books can be complete without a mention of the Baen Free Library.

Sci-Fi publisher Baen Books (helmed by Jim Baen) took the crack dealers notion to heart. Give them the first hit free, then they'll pay for the rest. As a result the Free Library was born, where you can download UNENCRYPTED full length novels by first rate authors. Many authors even have entire series available for free. You can get them in multiple formats, from Palm, Windows CE, Rocketbook, Rich Text, and HTML.

In addition, many of their hardcover books come with free CD's, which they encourage you to burn and give away. I think they have a total of seven of these CD's out now, with probably over 100 first rate titles by best selling authors completely FREE.

    Definately check it out.
