    more UKs in town

Our local paper this morning has an article about the St. Paddy's day bash with a picture of one of our Policemen, the director of the Boys/Girls clubs and another gent all wearing Utilikilts. Very cool, the Utilikilt army seems to be growing locally.

CT - now if I can just get some tartan on 'em ...

Great to hear that kilts are becoming more commonplace. There is a place for kilts in traditional men's drab trouser colours as well as bright tartan kilts.

Ah, one step at a time! (And if I were the officer, I don't think I'd be too thrilled about putting on a tank for duty wear - even if it were only for a special event. Uniform p@nts are expensive enough after they're trashed from wrestling with someone... losing a tank that way would be heartbreaking!)

Come on out the Estes Park, CO, the weekend after Labor day and see all the Police Officers wearing the Estes Park tartan tank, running around on Segways, golf carts etc. Of course it helps them that most of the people in town at that time are there for the games.

Placentia News Times, part of the OC Register. I think you have to register to view stuff online, don't know if pictures are there or not.

Here's the caption that went with the pic:

Thanks M@A, I've had occasion to run into the good Captain before (not on a professional level mind you wink wink) but those were pre-kilted days.
I'll pass along the compliments should I get pulled ove .. uhmm see him again.

VERY cool! I wonder if their uniform allowance goes to that, or if it comes out of pocket?
