What is the normal over all length of a sgain dubh?

Thanks, i was looking at some "alternative" ones, ie the short Ka-Bar, which is about 9", so i guess that would be a little long...

I think Riverkilt has a mini K-bar that he uses for a sgian dubh.

Well maybe it would work then. any other comments about using one of these knives as a dubh? Riverkilt, suggestions?

Might combine a short ka-bar (as a dubh) and a regular one ( as a dirk). Now I need to get a US Army tartan kilt. and maybe hit the lottery...
