buzz kidder of arizona canvass kilt

does anyone out there own or know anything about the highland originals canvass kilts made by buzz kidder of arizon. im looking to pick one up but id like to know if any one has an opinun on them i have three kilts now and one on order from the kilt store. my third kilt that just came in the mail was a black sport kilt, not very impressed by it. the other two are stillwater.

I've owned one of Buzz's kilts, and it was comfortable, and durable. When the dry-cleaner broke one of the strap buckles, Buzz replaced it for me, free. If you like the solid color kilt style, Buzz is a good choice.

I like the Buzz Kidder canvas kilt---but it wrinkles up something fierce, particularly when compared with wool or the SWK acrylic, and unlike those materials, it doesn't "hang out" on its own.

That's just what I was going to say. I have one of the canvas kilts. It is a good basic, durable kilt. It's major flaw is the wrinkling factor. Also note that these are not tailored kilts, and are only made to waist measurements.

ditto Kid Cossack and davedove. It's a great kilt, looks good and wears well, but it is a wrinkling beast. I wear it for games primarily, and I really do like it, but it has to be pressed with every wash, and washed with almost every wear. I have the khaki green.

I don't own one, but have seen a lot for sale by BK vendors at Highland Games...the one thing in common is the aforementioned wrinkles...even when presented for sale.

My guess is that they would respond well to my weighted clip technique of hang drying - saving the ironing - which works for my UKs and AKs which are similar fabric.

Just duct tape two half ounce lead fishing weights to each side of a clip. I use hanger clips from WalMart but suppose a clothes pin would work as well. After washing the kilt I hang it and clip the weighted clips to the bottom of the pleats.

The kilt pleats dry with a light weight pulling them into shape. Takes less time to put on the clips than to fire up an iron and wrestle with the kilt.
