What would all of y'all consider a good size for a sporran ? Only one of mine comfortably fits my hell phone, wallet, and car keys and I could use a wee bit more space for "stuff" and spare change without making it too big and silly looking. Thoughts? CT - kclw

CT - kclw I think you mistyped cell phone. Then again perhaps you did not . The SWK Nightstalker sporran I found to be a decent size. It might be because it hase three seperate compartments and actually organizes stuff better. My ebay $15 special is virtually useless after a wallet, keys. If I didn't keep my cigarettes in a narrow case I'd be totally out of luck. It's a very narrow and stiff leather sporran. The Freelander and Thorfinn look to be about the same size. And have ample room. The Freelanders that I have seen are a little o big for my tastes though but then again a sporran was initially all about function rather than fashion. I will be getting an RKilts Tasmanian sporran shortly. Smaller but again with that compartmental design that should sport things out and save space. Aside from that I have a beaver L&M dress coming. God knows the size as I wish manufacturers and sellers actually stated the size with the product.
I dunno' from personal experience, but I have wanted one of the drawstring, pouch like sporrans. They look like they'd hold quite a bit, considering their "adjustable" and all. You can find a good pattern to make one in the back of So You're Going to Wear the Kilt.
im thinking about get that SWK nightstalker sporran next. i have the SWK 3 tassle sporran, i can fit my wallet, cell phone and ipod in there but its a tight squeeze.

Check out this thread for an idea. Nick the nylon nightstalker sporran is a fantastic sporran although by no means dressy. Word is that SWK will be bringing out a leather version one day. And when it does he will be sold out on day one with this rabble .
Let me jump in here and voice a big pet peve - it seems like sporran size is one of the best kept secrets in the whole of the kilt accessory industry. Somewhere in a vault is the key to a safe that has the combination to the lock box that comtains the map to the buried chest that contains book that lists all of the sporran dimensions for every sporran manufacured world wide. Why oh why won't manufacturers list the dimensions of their sporrans? If they did answering your question would be much easier. Sorry for the hijack and the rant - please continue.
I think that a Freelander is the perfect size sporran, you can fit everything you will ever need. Also if you act fast you could possibly get number 101
