i need help with a tartan...
Greetings all,
a friend of mine has asked me to make him a trad kilt - no prob... won't be to barb's standards but will be adequate for his needs...
problem is he has picked out the tartan below

and i have NO CLUE as to what it might be...
Any advice /info would be greatly appreciated
Oh yeah: another question for the pros...
when pleating to the sett, should you make it look like the pattern flows all the way around the wearer, or is it okay to have the pattern going around the rear but breaking for the apron...
thanks in advance
ITS A KILT, G** D*** IT!

No Clue, but it looks great!
Do you know where he got the picture from? Maybe the photo properties can tell you the origin which might lead to the pipe band.

A weathered Buchanan, perhaps?

I was thinking Buchanan as well Todd, but there are a couple of differences

but could be a variation.
Here's one that is close

Buchanan Old - (Anc.) from http://www.thetartanbox.com/Tartans/...B/Buchanan.htm

No idea
The outfit is certainly well co-ordinated and handsome.

It looks Buchanan-ish but what do I know?
However should its identity be discovered it will no doubt go on a a few wish lists - including mine!
