Kudzu was introduced from Japan in 1876 at the Philadelphia Centennial Exposition. It is now found as far north as Patterson New Jersey and as far south as Key West, Florida. It is also a problem in Australia and Italy and the island of Vanuatu where it was planted in WW2 for camoflage. If anyone is interested, you can eat it.

Chattanooga Tennessee's public works department is currently using goats to control kudzu. Here's a link to one of many articles about it.

Crack me up. Memories of my years living in the South.

One of my favorite movie scenes is in Bull Durham where the team bus drives under the old railroad overpass covered in Kudzu...

For a real fun time add kudzu seeds to the bird feed and let the birds distribute them with their starter fertilizer.

One of the most remarkable things I have ever seen in my life was visiting a friend of mine's family just outside of Knoxville and seeing an entire hillside completely covered in kudzu. I saw only the outline of treelike shapes. It is an amazing thing to see.
