    Any other kilted Easter newbies?

I know a number of you rabble are always or nearly always kilted at church, but aside from the Feast Day of St. Andrew last year, I've never been kilted to church.

In just a few hours, I'll be attending 7:30 AM Mass with my mom and brother and his family in my Pride of Scotland, black polo, black hose, simple black day sporran, balmoral and purple flashes.

Anyone else going kilted who might not normally?

Anyone wearing a new kilt for Easter?
Why, a child of five could understand this. Quick -- someone fetch me a child of five!

I will be attending a 10:30 am service kilted. I have not decided yet which kilt I'm going to wear. My Kerr Modern (Clan tartan), New SWK Black Stewart Standard, or the new SWK Blackwatch Standard I just received. Decisions, decisions.

No new kilt, but will be kilted all day today. I'll be lounging around in a MacLeod of Harris today. The weather is supposed to be nice so I can go out on my deck and fire up a cigar and correct some papers for class next week.

I wore my Albannach tartan kilt. That one is new- I've only had it for like 2 weeks- and has lots of purple, so it was very appropriate. I wore my Lewis Rich hose- dark purple of course- and my rabbit fur dress sporran. I know it's a no-no to wear a dress sporran without a caotee and all the trimmings... but the rabbit fur seemed to fit the occasion. I also wore a full dress sgain dubh just to balance out the dress sporran. I also wore a black Van Heusen shirt and a black and silver tie. I looked pretty sharp, if I do say so myself.

Lucky you! It's cold and raining on our side of the Divide!

That's my preference, as well- but my mother is very Catholic. So I go to keep her happy. She's getting old and not doing so well, so I figure a small sacrifice here and there, like 2 hours on a Sunday morning, is a good thing.

Ever since I have started wearing kilts, (what maybe 3 years now) I think I have worn a kilt to church about 99 and 1/3% of the Sundays. Sometimes in summer I just wear shorts.

I'd love to go to church kilted, but I haven't yet, mostly because I haven't finished separation with my ex and don't want to rock the boat unduly. I'd also like to dress it up a bit which I can't really do with my very casual Union Kilt. I have worn it to a Men's camp that my church put on, though. That went down well.
