IŽm off to bed now. Thanks to all who replied to my questions. I hope to get to know you all better. IŽll go back to the shop tommorrow and try it on again. All being well IŽll put down a deposit then pay for it over the next few weeks. I have just bought two new cameras as I make 3D photos, so my account is a bit low just now.

With a moniker like Saul is there a Jewish connection? If so then Gordon is a very good choice.

SAUL, If you have not bought it DO SO ASAP !!
IMHO, A "REAL" REGIMENTAL KILT, in NEW condition, is perhaps, the best you can buy. ith:
I am lucky enough to own 3. ( + 0ne set of Trews )
I also own a "Gordon" by WPG (Same as GLEN's = 22oz & not an actual "DoA" Issue.( made in Pakistan ??) Although I like it ( it is my "Go To Kilt" in cooler weather) It i s in NO WAY the same quality, nor does it fit as well as my DoA's.
BTW, Although a "Yank", I am "Lucky" , in that I have "authority" to wear them. ( As an example, my "Can. Seaforth, + a Hat badge, a day sporran ( OR) & a Day Sporran ( officer's) were "presented to me.)

Good taste.... Well, if you mean will a squaddie from a Highland Regiment take exception. I doubt it, unless you put on a whole load of other military kit. In which case they might think you were a bit weird, but probably not be offended.
Good taste.... Well, it depends on what else you wear with it. Much of the activity on this forum is about questions of taste. I think you'll find that UK wearers tend to be more conservative in their dress sense than those from the US.
Hope that helps.
BTW, I had one too for a while, though in the end I sold it (perhaps rashly) because I got too hot in it.
Graham.
Naw, it's not that we're not conservative- we just have no taste in clothes!
Seriously- I can't give any more advice than you've already recieved, so I'll just say---
