I'll add my vote to Rob Roy The Highland Rogue. I always used to watch that as a kid. I can't say that I've seen Tunes of Glory, though.

Yeah, I forgot about that, probably best to go with the family version!

In no particular order I'd suggest:
ROB ROY The Highland Rogue, Walt Disney, 1954
KIDNAPPED, (starring Michael Caine) 1971
WEE GEORDIE, 1956
THE GHOST GOES WEST, 1936
THE FAST LADY, 1962
All of these are suitable family fare. Some of the films previously suggested can be pretty heavy going-- generally speaking I'd avoid serious dramas (TUNES OF GLORY) and stick with comedies or action pictures.

I'd vote for "Brigadoon".
Why must it be only one film? Why not a marathon of all the titles thus far suggested?

When given a choice, most people will choose.

I think "Wee Geordie" might be a bit hard for younguns to follow. While all the above choices are good, I have to Go with "Gunga Din". ith:
By Choice, not by Birth
