Heritageofscotland 20% off sale through Aug 31

For those who do not mind shopping the Gold Bros major online store, HeritageofScotland is having a 20% off everything in their online catalogue for 9 days ending August 31, 2009. That is on top of their regularly changing specials. I have used this particular type sale in the past to get a decent deal on some special fabrics in unusual or rare tartans. Might be worth a look.

Stay away from Heritage of Scotland. I ordered a medium weight, 8 yard kilt from them, and receieved a 5-yard, off the peg casual kilt. Despite demands for a refund, they refused, saying it was custom-made, which it was not, and that "medium" meant "casual kilt". After several angry letters, and several threats, the best they would do was refund 2/3 of my money. I still had to pay duty on the kilt I returned. I advise anyone contemplating doing business with them to beware.

I had a good experience with them. Ordered a 8 yard kilt in House of Edgar 16oz Campbell Ancient tartan and received just that - well-made and very good price.
