    think outside the box

so i looked at a jacket suggested on ebay and then followed the addicts link to a kilt posting... http://cgi.ebay.com/SCOTTISH-HEAVY-R...item20aca0026f its not bad ... and i know its acrylibeast but im ok with that ... but it claims to be box pleated, and to have the last pleat reversed which i dont believe applies to box pleats. my suspicion is that it is pleated to the sett thus forming boxes on the pleat section. anyone got one of these? is it sod or is it ok? and what is the style of pleating?

If you really want an acrylic, Stewart Royal kilt, why not go to SWK? Jerry's products are known to be quality, his shipping is legendary and he is easy to deal with if something goes amiss. You might pay a wee bit more but you DON'T get the (potential) headaches.

My two cents. I sent them an E-mail requesting a price for a Prince Charlie jacket a while back, they answered with a price that wasn't too bad - then added the offer expired in 24 hours. I didn't respond.

I took a look at the listing and it reads:
"Pleats: Pleats are aligned to box i.e., box pleated Last pleat reversed to back."

Your suspicion appears correct that it is probably knife pleated to the sett. If you are genuinely interested in it, send the seller a message; the quality of their reply might give you an indication of the quality of their goods.

Take note, this seller is in Pakistan, so you might want to consider shipping (18.00 US)and possibly custom charges..

Since they are in Pakistan, "pleats are aligned to box" may be a way of saying pleated to sett rather than stripe.
