Can someone help me with images?

    Hey Gang-
I have a disl that has images that I need and they are on a disk with a bunch of .CAT files. I'm on a MAc and can not open them. A.)Does any Mac user have any idea what program I might use? B.)If you are a Window user, could I email the disk image (20MB) and have you convert them into .Jpegs and resend to me? I'd appreciate any help.

Sometimes it is just as easy as rewriting with file tag at the end of the file name. Try replacing the .cat with a .jpeg. This sometimes works and is certainly the easiest way to do it.

From a quick Google search it seems a .cat file is a database catalog file. What are these for?

Digging a little deeper, it seems image files with .cat extension may be associated with a program called PhotoStudio from ArcSoft, Inc. Here is a link that might help -- purports to have various free downloads from ArcSoft, including a "media converter."

    link

Even if that page doesn't help, I'd look farther down the PhotoStudio trail.
