Who were those guys?
Check out the website to the New York Tartan Ball, held last fall. The gallery is at [img]http://www.scottishball.com/gallery.htmlkche[img]
There's a photo of what appears to be young Gordon Highlander officers in Mess Dress. At least it looks like a Gordon kilt, and their buff facings are correct.
But the Gordons as a unit had become The Highlanders when this photo was taken, and then all were rolled into the Royal Regiment of Scotland. If they were visiting New York on an exchange - that's odd - foreign troops more often go to the New Mexico desert to prepare for Afghanistan, not hang around New York City.
Any ideas who these mystery subalterns were? [img]http://mobth1094.photobucket.com/albums/i453/Biathlonman/th_img_0503.jpg[img]

No clue about the Gordons but I will observe that people do visit NY just for fun, an indication of which can be seen in the photos. That Scottish event seems to have been somewhat 'slinkier' than I'm used to.
