Life's been a bit hectic of late so my wife and I were pleased to be invited to a BBQ with a group of our friends on Saturday afternoon. An opportunity to let the hair down and chill a bit. After cooking some fantastic local sausages under a gazeebo in the pouring rain (a good laugh if nothing else), we all enjoyed a very pleasant evening indoors. I was the only one kilted. No surprises there then.

I wore my 13oz wool Johnstone Modern Kilt pleated to gold stripe and taking a leaf out of J.Charles Thompson's book "So You're Going to Wear the Kilt", I also wore my new 1937 pattern British battle-dress jacket that I picked up on ebay last month from a vendor called Spearhead Militaria, a Canadian based outfit. It's a lovely jacket, very well made (in the far east) and looks great with the Kilt in my opinion. I have looked at the option of getting an original for some time but I've never seen one in my size so this one was the next best thing.
