I'm contemplating another kilt in MacKay tartan. It's predominantly green and overall fairly dark. Is there a good way to pleat this to get a reveal, or is this one not worth the trouble and just stick with pleating to sett?

I may have to spend a while with my current macKay kilt and play with it a bit.
The only way to be sure is to actually try it out with tartan in hand. But, you won't see a flash unless there's a really striking difference between what you see on the face of the pleat (the reveal) and what is immediately underneath the reveal and hidden unless the pleat opens. And lighter _inside_ the pleat makes a better flash than the reverse.
