Since jb88ci is of Irish rather than Scottish extraction, a Scottish tartan might be inappropriate.
The suggestion of a North American district tartan is an excellent one, but if the Irish connection is significant, there is a whole range of setts that could be used.
You could choose from Eire, Ireland’s National, All Ireland Green, All Ireland Red or All Ireland Blue.
As mentioned there are Irish county tartans, provincial tartans and setts for the ancient kingdoms that have not survived as either counties or provinces.
The most authentic Irish tartan is Ulster, and in the form of Ulster Red it is quite handsome.
There is also a Spirit of Ulster tartan (purplish blue with narrow red and white stripes) and Ulster Scots (also blue, but with black and some purple).
It is, however, quite likely that jb88ci is not of Ulster Scottish extraction, which would rule that one out.
