Nice one. I think you're doing great but personally, I can't go for the combat boots. Boots look fine with a casual T-shirt stylee but not with the type of shirt you have. I think you'd look better in a pair of well polished black leather shoes. Avoid pointy toes though, in a Kilt they make feet look enormous. Jock's point on Kilt levelling is also important but you've picked up on that already. This of course is only my opinion and therefore worth nowt.
