Instead of kilt, think kilt JACKET. Remember when you were very young and had a pair of mittens on a string that was threaded through the sleeves of your coat. Well this is the same thing - but for adults.
The cord goes through the sleeves and the fur squares hang down at the cuff, always to hand and ready for use.
