CMcG: Picked up a thin belt as recommended, good call. I could feel the difference, chain was definitely going to rub everything the wrong way if used too often. Thanks for the tip!

Also thanks to RAF regarding which way the clips fasten on the chain, and piperdbh for the budget tips on the strap. Also, piper - clever idea about the interfacing, though personally I try to avoid fusibles since I've had some experiences with bubbling later on (I'm probably just too impatient to iron it in place correctly the first time 'round). Sew-in would be a great fix, too bad there's really no good place to keep it fastened all the way down. :1
