New Hay Kilt from Barb T.

[A Hay]

As a retirement gift to myself, I asked Barbara Tewksbury to make a Hay Kilt for me. She agreed and it arrived shortly before Thanksgiving. Moving into a new home and the holiday have limited my opportunities to wear a kilt but here is one of the first pictures of it.






The craftsmanship is what we have come to expect from Barb. The alignment of the pattern is perfect. The fit is perfect also, but I'm going to watch my weight so I don't outgrow it!

I'm having some adjustment problems with a new computer that is running Windows 7, Home addition, so I'm not able at this time to post multiple photos, but I will show the side and back views in another post, later.

Also, the material for this kilt comes from Locharron, in the Strom weight, and they are using a larger sett size and a brighter red thread than a previous kilt I had in the Hay pattern. I have another photo where I show the two kilts side by side. I like the larger sett and brighter red, but I'm going to keep the older kilt because my wife has a long skirt in that patter and I'll wear it when we attend a function together. (Figured out how to move between Photobucket and here, on my new computer, so here is the extra picture.
