Thanks! Tuesday nights are weapons training classes. On top of the three empty-hand kata I showed videos of, I have a sword kata I have to get nice and crisp. There are no videos of it, however, because it has yet to be committed to video. My sensei has been declare the founder of his own style by the International San Ten Karate Association, and his weapons kata are all his own. The students of the last five years are the first to be "official" students of his style, if you take my meaning. He's got a book coming out in the next year that will outline his style. Essentially he teaches Shotokan on Monday, jujitsu on Wednesday, and on Friday integrates the two. He puts the jujitsu into the weapons training, too, which makes for some really interested pommel strikes. And yes... "obsessive" is a good word. Although I personally like addictive. I think it's more addictive than anything else. I miss a class, and I jones for it! I'm also going to school to finish my teaching degree, and I have to miss Wednesday night classes. I hate it!!
Luckily Sensei and I have been friends for much longer than student/teacher, so he just has me come over to his house on Saturday for a drink and some instruction.
