Thank you all for the insight. I knew I'd come to the right place. The info is quite interested, however, I doubt the COA has any significance. I will, if I can, look further into the possible Scott/German name connection, but it may be impossible to dig that deep into the past. In the mean time, I will consider the COA to be a thoughtful, and somewhat researched gift to my ggf.
