I’ve belonged to this forum for a little over a year now.
I would consider myself fairly traditional in wearing the kilt and its accoutrements.
I have learned a great deal from the members here.
I consider your “opinions” on how to wear the kilt to be indisputable.
When a question about how to wear something arises, I wait to hear from you to find out how things “are done”.
I wear my kilt to honor my heritage. I’m not really concerned nor have I given much thought as to whether others should be honored that I wear it or whether their reasons for wearing it are valid.
I am concerned that I am wearing it properly when I do.
And it is this information that I have gotten from you that I find invaluable.
I am very sorry that things got to the point where you felt you had to leave.
Re-reading that fateful post, I see that it could have and in my opinion should have ended after the question, your reply, and the thank you.
Question asked and answered and we should have moved on.
I think during that time there weren’t a lot of kilt wearing functions going on so discussions got a little out of hand. (Native Scots, Diaspora, Rules of the Gentleman, Alternative to the Gentleman)
I’ve noticed now that Burns Nights have happened the posts are back to being about how people are kilted and various and sundry items to be worn with the kilt.
I for one miss your valuable input.
