For me, it was the now-extinct Samuel Adams Triple Bock. I made a very unfortunate comment about it after the first sip, "Tastes like soy sauce." Which stood to reason, considering the extreme grain bill. Managed to finish the glass but it was ruined for me until I made a concerted effort to get over it. I eventually managed to do so, and enjoyed many a fine evening immersed in some literary work, with the fire going, and a glass of Triple Bock to hand.

One tiny bottle was enough for three nights of splendour. I think it was about ten bottles to get through the entire 14-book Dune "trilogy."
