Your original query, KC, was about tower houses in the 17C. Is that the century you are interested in, or the 18C? Perhaps we are confusing you: Rathdown and I are referring to the 17C and fortified homes, but you seem to have moved to the rebellions of the 18C and garrisons and that's what Woodsheal is referring to.
