'Painful' attitude to kilts
Last week, it being St Andrew's on Friday, I ran St. Andrews themed sessions for our cubs on Tuesday and Thursday, made some tablet and shorties and my youngest and I donned our kilts.
On Thursday i had to pop in to a local store on the way home to get a few bits for our meal on Saturday, and not even thinking anythign about it, we entered the store kilted.
We drew many admiring looks and Callum got a lot of "Oh, he's so cute" remarks.
Turning down the aisle to get some milk, a lady saw us, stopped, elbowed her partner quite sharply in the ribs and commenced to berate him, very loudly, about how their son could have got away with wearing a kilt to their wedding.
About 5 minutes later, she came and found us and commented on how great we looked and how, um, 'annoyed' she was with her husband. She asked where she could buy a kilt for her little on, and we spent about 20 minutes talking about 'acceptable' tartans, accessories, etc.
I'm guessing I know what the little one will be getting for Xmas from mum...
