I need to retire. I've been too busy working to be able to adequately attend to my Burns Supper duties here on Xmars. I'll try to answer a couple of things:
The supper is $15 per head, and it's at the Celtic Tavern in Conyers, GA. (Greg will cut the rate for children) This will be our 7th annual Supper, and it's a small lively group of folks in a very congenial setting. Children are welcomel; it's a very family-friendly place, and we often have even very young children in attendance.
Dinner is at 6:00 or so, but we start gathering to drink, reive cattle, tell big tales, and generally practice a great deal of tomfoolery a bout 5:00 or so. It's a standard format Burns Supper with standard fare which you can read about here: http://www.robertburns.org/suppers/ . for the sisses and faint of heart, we will likely have shepherd's pie as an alternative to the haggis, but the haggis is so good, it usually gets preference.
See here for the Tavern's site. It has directions and any info you may want: http://conyersceltictavern.com/
I do need a head count by Thursday (although you can probably squeeze in late if I like you
) as we need to plan the food purchases for Friday.
We can only seat about 40, and that only if we seat at the bar, so please let me know if you're coming. I can promise you the best food anywhere. And where else are you going to meet so great a crowd? And most of them kilted at that!
Please PM me with any questions or comments.
P. S. You will be responsible for you own bar tab!
