Greetings my kilted brethern,

Please excuse the indulgence of my ego, but I must share with you what happened to me today.

The mayor of Denver gave his State of the City address today with all its pomp and circumstance. I was standing in the back by all the TV cameras because I was late, and had no place to sit. The event was held outside and you could tell where the activities were being held because of the brass band. I was standing just to the left of the center aisle, and all the elected city officials walked down it from the back. Finally the mayor with his wife on his arm showed up, and were waiting for their cue to march down the center aisle. The mayors wife spotted me, smiled and nudged her husband who looked over and shook my hand.

The speech was a typical optimistic view of what happened this past year and what is being planned for the next few years. When the speech was over I noticed several people that I know from various places throughout town, and started to talk to them. When the mayor's wife, who you may remember knows me from a committee we both are on, came up to me and gave me a great big hug for showing up and not having a political agenda to be there. I overheard people saying "who is the kilted man hugging the wife of the mayor?" I got to be on several TV stations, but I directed back the questions to the speech just heard, and not my kilt.

I was invited to a reception afterwards just for invited guests to hobnob with the elected officials of the Denver area, along with the Governor. It was a wonderful day to be kilted!

Thank you all for letting be a little boastful, for as you know is not my style.
