What tartans are "Notable"?
The Saint Andrew's Society of Jacksonville has a collection of tartan banners that we take to various Kirkin's and other events throughout the year. This collection, primarily of clan tartans donated by members, started small but has recently grown to nearly 80 individual tartan banners, each embroidered with the clan it represents.
If you are interested, you can get an idea of the collection here:

Recently, I've had the notion that we should include some "notable" tartans in the collection....for example the Shepherd check is "notable" for being the simplest of tartans, while Ogilvie is "notable" for being the most complex.
So...which other tartans are in some way "notable"? They may just find their way into our collection!!
