Gentlemen, I read all of your interesting motivations for your kilt wearing. Me I have no connection with Scotland, nor have I family roots going back to that part of the world. However, the kilt is a garment which I have in my mind since so many years. Men in kilt got always my full attention. Why? Honestly, I couldn't say. I accepted however that a man in my country was not supposed to wear anything else than trousers. Period!Being retired now and thus having more free time, late last summer I was on a walk through Bruges and saw coming out of a restaurant some very fine gentlemen with their spouses and they were wearing such beautiful kilts, and hose, and jackets.... I really couldn't take my eyes of them. I even followed them for a while. Why could they... and I not? Coming home I told this to my wife. She let me understand that, if I had a similar desire, she wouldn't oppose. As from then everything went very quickly and, to shorten this too long story: I wear the kilt with joy as often as possible (minimum twice a week) and I go out with pleasure and proud (although stupidly I still feel some inner anxiety).

Purchasing kilts was a very yielding investment (although rather expensive!!).

I’m convinced I couldn't miss it anymore. A pity I had to wait so long before I allowed myself the joy of being kilted. So is this a sensible reason why I wear the kilt? No! In my case everything in based on unexplainable feelings.
