As much as I am against bring lawyers into any disagreement, I would contact an attorney if they tried to pull that crap with my kids. I would be willing to bet that they have students that wear much more "on the fringe" clothing all of the time.

I've had to go have some rather stern discussions with my daughters' high school about some of the articles of clothing that they have worn. I have even told them, "If they wear something that violates the dress code, I will back you 100%. However, I know the dress code as well you do, maybe even better, and my child is not violating the dress code." There was nothing revealing. There was nothing advertising a "contraband product". Nothing. They took exception to the fact that my oldest daughter chose to wear a tail and ears to school on more than one occasion. They've also taken exception to her, and I am not sure why she did this, cutting the leg off of one pair of pants about mid-thigh and "replacing" it with a legging that she pulled on over the exposed leg.
