Hadn't seen this blanket since I was a little boy:

The thing is, I remember it being darker. So now I wonder if this is the same blanket that I knew about. The fact I know is that my great aunt went to Scotland many years ago (maybe even before I was born? Can't ask her now, sadly) and brought back a Buchanan tartan blanket. That's the one I saw at the very least 40 years ago. What I don't know is if this is that same one. I'll have to go rummage around some more.
But compared to the state of some of the things we found, I was thrilled to see this was in such good shape. It had been in a very well-sealed plastic tub. Not everything else fared so well. lol
These things may be a dime a dozen elsewhere (I have no idea how to gauge the quality - only that I love it for what it is and where it's been) but I was very happy to find it and since I was the one helping with the garage, Grandpa granted me dibs. My daughter was excited to find his old WWII footlocker - he had it in Okinawa among other places. My brothers can fight over a ceramic cat.
