American Heritage Tartan & World Cup Football

I left work a little early today to watch the USA v. Ghana World Cup match. Unfortunately I missed watching a great deal of it and had to listen on the radio. I ended up having to take my son back to his mothers house... At any rate, I put on my new American Heritage USA Kilts 8-yard wool (which my son did not approve of) in honor of our team and headed out. When we arrived my daughter greeted me and upon seeing the kilt she was instantly embarrassed. She ran back inside after a quick hug. Neither one of them had seen me in a kilt... American kids... Oh well...

I also made a quick stop at the corner store to pick up an anniversary card, where I got a couple of approving looks from a couple of ladies and an approving comment from the cashier, along with a question regarding the occasion. Last, I made a stop at a spa to pick up a gift certificate where I got a huge smile from the receptionist and one customer in the waiting area.

Being new to wearng the kilt, these quick outings really help build and reinforce the confidence it took to kilt up in the first place. As for the kids... They're teenagers, and nothing I do will be cool no matter what I do. I'm not concerned about it, and they'll survive having a kilted father.

I was able to see the game winning goal and the final minutes of the hard fought win for the US. It's been a great night! Sorry there are no pictures
